Trust & Transparency
Honest software reviews based on hands-on testing, consistent scoring, and full transparency on how we evaluate and earn revenue.
At SoftwareFinds, our goal is to help small businesses choose the right software — confidently and transparently.
That means being clear about how we evaluate platforms and how we make money.
1. How We Research & Evaluate Platforms
We believe in combining structured, consistent testing with real-world experience.
Our reviews are based on measurable criteria, but also informed by our hands-on use of these tools — as consultants, creators, and operators.
Our Evaluation Framework
Every platform is reviewed across five key categories:
- Value – How much functionality you get for the price, including plan limits, hidden costs, and return on investment.
- Configurability – How well the platform adapts to different business workflows (custom fields, automations, integrations, permissions).
- Ease of Use – How intuitive setup, navigation, and day-to-day operation are for both technical and non-technical users.
- Transparency – How open the company is with pricing, limitations, and policies that affect users’ long-term experience.
- Impact – The long-term potential of the platform: if fully implemented and used to its full capability, can it meaningfully scale with a growing company?
These categories form the foundation for every review, comparison, and video we produce.
Our Process
- Hands-On Testing: We personally create real test workspaces and simulate authentic business workflows.
- Feature Verification: We cross-check marketing claims against actual functionality.
- User Feedback & Community Input: We review verified feedback from users and industry communities to capture patterns and edge cases.
- Contextual Evaluation: Our experience working with hundreds of small businesses informs our perspective — what works in practice, not just in theory.
- Ongoing Updates: Because SaaS tools evolve quickly, we re-evaluate top platforms regularly to keep information current.
We use consistent criteria to maintain fairness and comparability between platforms.
Still, software isn’t one-size-fits-all — so where personal experience or judgment informs a rating, we make that clear within the review.
We do not accept payment or influence from vendors to change scores or rankings.
If a company sponsors a video or article, it’s always clearly labeled as Sponsored, and sponsorship never affects scoring.
2. How SoftwareFinds Makes Money
We believe transparency about revenue is just as important as transparency about reviews.
Our revenue comes from three primary sources:
- Affiliate Links: Some links on our site and YouTube channel are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you sign up — at no extra cost to you. These commissions help fund our research, testing, and production costs.
- Sponsorships: Occasionally, we produce sponsored content. These pieces are always marked as “Sponsored” and adhere to the same editorial standards as all other content. Sponsors do not influence our opinions or ratings.
- Implementation Services: Through our partner company, Automation Helpers, we help businesses implement many of the tools we review. This gives us unique insight into how platforms perform in real-world use cases.
We never rank or recommend tools based on affiliate payouts.
3. Our Commitment
SoftwareFinds exists to make the software landscape clearer, not more confusing.
We’ll continue refining our methodology, clearly marking paid partnerships, and updating reviews as platforms evolve.
We welcome feedback — it helps us stay accountable to what matters most: you, the reader.
